Eclipse Theatre Company is holding open auditions for Motherhood Out Loud, directed by Kathy Sturm.

Location: Eclipse Theatre, 915 Schrock Rd.

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.

It is highly recommended that you read the play prior to auditioning. Scripts are available from Dramatists Play Service.

Per our COVID Policy, all auditioning must provide proof of vaccination before being permitted to audition.

The Characters

We will be casting 3 female and 1 male performers, each of whom will be playing multiple roles, ages 25-50.

Actors need to be available to begin rehearsals immediately.

The Story

Motherhood Out Loud is a series of monologues and short plays that take us on a journey of motherhood that anyone who is or knows a mother can relate to. Conceived by Susan R. Rose and Joan Stein, Motherhood Out Loud was written by a collection of noted American writers including Leslie Ayvazian, David Cale, Jessica Goldberg, Beth Henley, Lameece Issaq, Claire LaZebnik, Lisa Loomer, Michele Lowe, Marco Pennette, Theresa Rebeck, Luanne Rice, Annie Weisman, Cheryl L. Westand  Brooke Berman.  It reveals with illuminating insight, the humor, raw emotions and rocky roads we experience in life. This unpredictable, joyous, moving and hilarious play shatters traditional notions about parenthood and celebrates the truths that span and unite generations. You don't have to be a mother to relate to and enjoy this play - you just have to know a mother or have seen one in the wild.
