Eclipse Theatre Company is holding open auditions for Rancho Mirage by Steven Dietz and directed by Connor Graham.

The Story
Rancho Mirage is a bitingly funny black comedy about what happens when the fictions that hold our lives together are exposed. In this sharp and surprising sojourn into the psyche of modern-day America—where affluence is perhaps our greatest mirage—three couples, long-time friends, find themselves at a dinner party where everyone finally decides to tell the truth. Rancho Mirage asks what connects us when our youth, our dreams, and our last bottle of wine are gone.

Current Rehearsal Schedule
Rehearsals may begin as early as March 7, 2022. The rehearsal schedule will be created around the company’s availability, but will generally take place Monday, and Wed, -Fri. 6:30 - 10:00 PM and either a Saturday or a Sunday each week up to 4 hours. Tuesday nights and one weekend day are off.
Tech/Dress Rehearsals: Monday, April 18-Thursday, April 21.
Rehearsals may begin as early as March 7, 2022. The rehearsal schedule will be created around the company’s availability, but will generally take place Monday, and Wed, -Fri. 6:30 - 10:00 PM and either a Saturday or a Sunday each week up to 4 hours. Tuesday nights and one weekend day are off.

Physicality, Intimacy, and Nudity Notice
Content Disclosure: Alcohol Consumption, Discussion of Grooming Minors, Discussion of Miscarriage, Discussion of Infidelity, Discussion of Alzheimer’s, Romantic Intimacy, and Partial Nudity.
The content in this play will be discussed in detail with the entire cast and those who are performing the roles that are directly involved in these actions.
The vision for this production is that the action is highly physicalized. Actors may be asked to bend, sit, kneel, stand, jump, and climb as best as they are able. We will work within the capacity of each actor. Not all choreography is known at this time.
There is a consensual kiss between Diane and Nick. There is a consensual romantic embrace or kiss between Pam and Charlie These actions will be carefully choreographed by Connor Graham.
Theatrical Intimacy Education defines nudity as anything less than what the actor would normally wear to rehearsal. For a portion of act two, Nick does not wear a shirt and Charlie does appear wearing his underwear. The actors will be provided robes for rehearsal, tech, and performances. Actors will choose when they begin rehearsing partial nudity with an “off-clothes” day listed on the rehearsal calendar by the callback date. Flesh tone shirts and pants may be provided during tech week.
A full breakdown of concepts, intimacy, and partial nudity will be provided at the audition and callback.
For this production we are also recruiting for Designers (scenic, lighting, props, and costumes), as well as Stage Managers, Assistant Directors, and Dramaturgs.
Pay and Union Transparency: All acting and production roles are currently non-Union and non-paid.

Performances
