Eclipse Theatre Company is holding open auditions for Too Much Sun by Nicky Silver and directed by Aynn Titchenal.

All auditionees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
All acting and production roles are currently non-Union and non-paid.
- Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Scripts are available from Dramatists Play Service but having read the script is not required.
- Bring with you:
- an up-to-date acting resumé; a headshot/photo is recommended but not required.
- a list of known conflicts between April 2 and June 19. We know that life can interfere with the best-laid plans, but it’s imperative that your conflict list be as complete as possible.
- proof of vaccination for COVID-19
The Story
After storming off the stage of the play she is currently starring in, a theatre diva descends upon the seemingly tranquil beach house of her daughter and son-in-law. Unexpected and unwelcomed, she nevertheless becomes a catalyst for both romance and tragedy, setting the stage for revelations of secrets long kept and forcing the characters to shed the life roles they’ve been playing and stop “acting.”
The Characters
We will be auditioning for 5 actors to play the following roles:
* The role of Winston has been cast
- Females
- Audrey – 60s, an accomplished and celebrated stage actress
- Kitty – 30s-40s, Audrey’s daughter, a schoolteacher
- Males
- Dennis – mid-30s-mid-40s, Kitty’s husband, who’s trying to be a “writer”
- Lucas – 20 something, son of Winston, Kitty and Dennis’s next-door neighbor
- Gil/Director’s voice – late 20s-early 30s, nervous, fast-talking assistant to Audrey’s agent

Current Rehearsal Schedule
The rehearsal schedule will accommodate the company’s availability to the extent possible.

- Introduction/Read Through April 5
- Full rehearsal period: April 10 through June 2.
- Rehearsal schedule:
- Monday through Thursday, 7-9 pm, call at 6:30
- Sundays 1-4 pm, call at 12:30.
- No rehearsal on Easter, Mother’s Day, Memorial Day weekend (Sunday and Monday); April 7, 21, and 24; and May 1, 2, and 5.
- Plan to come to rehearsals and performances with the intent of having fun. That’s why they call it a “play.”

- Thursday, Friday, and Saturday performances begin at 7:30 PM and Sundays at 2:00 PM.
